Tusk Praises Executive Who Blocked Obajtek’s Unauthorized Entry

Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed admiration on Friday for a company president who physically blocked former Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek from entering a facility during a labor protest in Choczewo.

A Confrontation at Solino

On Thursday, Daniel Obajtek attempted to force his way into the Solino plant to conduct a parliamentary intervention. As a member of the European Parliament, Obajtek lacks the legal authority for such actions, leading company president Wojciech Kotlarek to deny him entry.

During the ensuing standoff, Obajtek crawled under a security barrier, prompting Kotlarek to physically intervene and block his path, telling the former CEO to step back and stop his approach.

Tusk: Obajtek Belongs Outside Public Life

Speaking at an energy station opening in Choczewo on Friday, Tusk praised Kotlarek as a “brave man” for his actions. The Prime Minister stated that given the scandal and allegations surrounding Obajtek, the executive was right to show him that his place is outside of public life.

Kaczyński’s Attacks on Police Denounced

The Prime Minister also addressed comments made by Jarosław Kaczyński, who recently labeled police officers as “thugs” during a Smolensk anniversary event. Tusk condemned the opposition leader’s rhetoric as unworthy, accusing him of exploiting national tragedies for political attacks against state services.

Kaczyński’s Call for a Citizen Guard

Jarosław Kaczyński previously demanded police intervention against protesters and proposed the formation of a “citizen guard.” He further suggested that current police officers would eventually be held accountable for their actions and investigated for potential collaboration with foreign intelligence.
