Tusk Preferred Over Czarnek as Future Prime Minister in New Poll

A recent SW Research poll shows Donald Tusk leading Przemysław Czarnek as a preferred future prime minister, while international media and separate surveys highlight ongoing fractures within the PiS camp.

Poll Comparison Between Tusk and Czarnek

The poll included only current head of government Donald Tusk and former education minister Przemysław Czarnek, who is PiS’s candidate for the position. Other parties did not officially designate such candidates, which is why they were not included in the survey.

According to a study by the SW Research agency for “Wprost”, 38.4 percent of survey participants indicated Donald Tusk as the future head of government. Significantly fewer, at 20.2 percent of people, chose Przemysław Czarnek. Almost the same amount—20.5 percent—stated that they evaluate both politicians the same way. Meanwhile, 20.9 percent of respondents answered that they have no opinion on the matter.

As “Wprost” emphasizes, the votes were distributed similarly among women and men. According to 38.6 percent of female respondents, Donald Tusk would be a better prime minister. The same opinion was shared by 38.2 percent of male respondents.

International Media on the PiS Split

World media are reporting on the split within PiS, describing how it is dismantling itself. According to “Politico”, the split in PiS shortly before the parliamentary elections significantly weakens the chances of the entire conservative camp to remove Donald Tusk from power. A poll by the Pollster Research Institute for “Super Express” shows that as many as 62 percent of respondents do not believe that PiS will return to power after the 2027 parliamentary elections without Mateusz Morawiecki.

Comparison Involving Mateusz Morawiecki

Meanwhile, last week’s Opinia24 poll, commissioned by TVN and TVN24’s “Fakty”, shows that 30 percent of respondents see Mateusz Morawiecki as a future prime minister more than Przemysław Czarnek. Only 11 percent chose the former education minister, the answer “both to the same extent” was indicated by 19 percent of respondents, and 40 percent of respondents “do not know” or refused to answer the question.
