Two Hospitalized After Mini and BMW Collision in Warsaw

Two people were hospitalized following a collision between a Mini and a BMW at the intersection of Jana Pawła II Avenue and Nowolipki Street in Warsaw on Wednesday afternoon.

Collision at Warsaw Intersection

On Wednesday, August 12, around 12 PM, a collision occurred between two passenger cars, a Mini and a BMW, at the intersection of Jana Pawła II Avenue and Nowolipki Street in Warsaw. Two people traveling in the Mini were injured and transported to the hospital, while Nowolipki Street was blocked between Jana Pawła II Avenue and Karmelicka Street during emergency operations.

Circumstances of the Crash

Initial findings indicate that the driver of the BMW was traveling along Jana Pawła II Avenue from Radosław Roundabout and initiated a left turn onto Nowolipki Street at the intersection. At the same time, the driver of the Mini was traveling straight along Jana Pawła II Avenue from Solidarności Avenue, and the BMW cut off the Mini during the turn, leading to the collision.

Emergency Response and Medical Transport

Prevention police officers were the first to arrive at the scene, securing the area and attending to the injured individuals until further help arrived. A total of two people—the driver and the passenger of the Mini—were transported to the hospital, while the driver of the BMW sustained no injuries and remained at the scene.

After the injured were taken to the hospital, officers from the accident section of the Traffic Department conducted measurements and photographic documentation of the crash site and the damaged vehicles. The passage on Nowolipki Street between Jana Pawła II Avenue and Karmelickated Street remained blocked during these operations.

Public Transport Disruptions

Warsaw Public Transport reported disruptions due to the incident in the area of the intersection, affecting the operation of line 107 buses. Passengers were informed of potential delays and the rerouting of buses in both directions via Nowolipki Street, Jana Pawła II Avenue, Anielewicza Street, Zamenhofa Street, and back onto Nowolipki Street.
