Two Mercedes Vehicles Collide on S2 Route, Driver Flees on Foot After Rollover

A serious collision between two Mercedes vehicles on the S2 route in Opacz-Kolonia sent a passenger car rolling onto its roof and prompted the driver to flee the scene on foot.

Collision on the S2 Route

On Monday at 9:34 AM on the S2 route, near Aleje Jerozolimskie in Opacz-Kolonia within Pruszków County, a serious collision occurred involving two vehicles. A Mercedes Sprinter delivery van and a Mercedes A-Class passenger car collided on the transit lane heading toward the Konotopa interchange. The impact was strong enough to send the passenger car crashing into energy-absorbing barriers and overturning onto its roof.

Driver Flees the Scene

The driver of the Mercedes A-Class managed to exit the wrecked vehicle on their own. Instead of waiting for emergency services, the individual fled on foot in an unknown direction. Police are currently conducting operations to determine the driver’s identity and whereabouts, while also investigating who caused the collision and why the motorist chose to run.

Driver Status and Injuries

The driver of the Mercedes Sprinter remained at the scene and tested negative for alcohol, and possessed the required driving qualifications. Despite the severity of the accident, no one sustained injuries, and no participants required transport to the hospital.

Emergency Response and Traffic Disruption

Fire services and police were dispatched to the location to secure the damaged vehicles and the scene, as well as to check for fluid leaks or other hazards. Officers inspected the area, secured evidence, and worked to establish the precise course of events. Three lanes heading toward Konotopa were blocked during the operation, causing significant traffic congestion and delays for motorists as wreckage removal and road cleanup continued.
