Volvo Crashes Through Barriers After Praga-Północ Collision

A serious two-car collision between an Audi and a Volvo on Wednesday afternoon in Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district resulted in extensive vehicle damage, but miraculously no injuries.

Crash at the Szwedzka and Solidarności Intersection

On Wednesday, August 5, at around 4:55 PM, a serious-looking collision involving two passenger cars—an Audi and a Volvo—occurred at the intersection of Szwedzka Street and Solidarności Avenue in Praga-Północ. Despite the extensive damage to both vehicles, none of the participants sustained any injuries.

Failure to Yield Right of Way

According to initial findings, the traffic lights at the intersection were switched off at the time of the incident. A 59-year-old female driver of the Audi was traveling along Szwedzka Street from Starzyński Street and failed to yield the right-of-way to the Volvo driver while entering the intersection with Solidarności Avenue.

Volvo Ploughs Through Barriers

Following the impact, the Volvo was knocked off its trajectory. The car crashed through protective barriers, drove across the oncoming traffic lane, and ultimately came to a halt on a green area.

Emergency Services Respond to the Scene

Witness accounts indicated that the incident could have had severe consequences. The fire department and four emergency medical rescue teams were dispatched to the location, where firefighters secured the collision area and both damaged vehicles while paramedics examined the participants.

No Hospitalization Required

After medical examinations, it was determined that none of the individuals required transport to a hospital. Police officers conducted further procedures by documenting the scene, and the 59-year-old Audi driver was issued a fine for causing the collision.
