Operation e-Bike Enforcement
Over the past weekend, Warsaw police conducted the “e-Bike” operation in the Śródmieście and Mokotów districts, aiming to improve road safety. Authorities inspected 325 users of electric vehicles, including 187 scooters, 90 bicycles, and 22 other electric transport devices.
Violations and Illegal Modifications
Police issued 74 fines amounting to over 30,000 PLN, citing excessive speed, dangerous sidewalk riding, and illegal speed limiter tampering. Three scooters were confiscated, and three riders were forced to continue their journey on foot.
Broader Public Safety Concerns
The operation also identified three individuals wanted by law enforcement and one intoxicated scooter rider, while 21 minors were among those cited for traffic violations. Digital crime specialists assisted in identifying technical non-compliance in the vehicles.
Ongoing Traffic Enforcement
Authorities emphasized that the rising popularity of non-compliant electric vehicles and reckless riding behavior poses a significant threat to pedestrians. Due to the danger of serious traffic accidents, police will continue these systematic inspections across the capital.
