Warsaw Southern Hospital Board Dismissed Following Audit Findings

The supervisory board of the Warsaw Southern Hospital dismissed the entire management team on June 18, acting on a request from Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski following investigations into irregularities at the Emergency Department.

Management Overhaul and New Leadership

On June 18, the hospital’s supervisory board dismissed board president Anna Łukasik and medical director Agata Kusz-Rynkun, effectively removing the entire existing leadership. Aneta Gomółka-Siembora, a specialist in healthcare management, audits, and public procurement, has been appointed as the new president, tasked with cooperating with oversight bodies to clarify existing irregularities.

Financial Irregularities and Criminal Notifications

An audit uncovered that Dawid Kacprzyk corrected 33 invoices covering the period between January 2025 and June 2026, subsequently returning 500,000 PLN to the hospital. The hospital has filed a criminal notification regarding potential fraud involving the physician’s billing and scheduling practices.

Prosecutorial Investigation and Procedural Failures

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw is investigating allegations of improper triage practices and the potential creation of a “VIP” system at the Emergency Department, which may have compromised patient safety. Investigators are also scrutinizing the falsification of work time documentation for financial gain.

Institutional Oversight and Operational Review

City officials clarified that the hospital does not operate an official VIP room, noting that Dawid Kacprzyk allegedly accessed space belonging to the adjacent Spine Surgery Center without authorization. The facility is now coordinating with the National Health Fund to examine the organizational structure and the clinical decision-making processes that occurred under the previous management.
