Warsaw Southern Hospital Board Dismissed Following VIP Treatment Scandal

The Supervisory Board of the Warsaw Southern Hospital, acting on the request of Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, dismissed the entire hospital management board on Thursday, June 18, amid allegations of patient mismanagement.

Dismissals and New Leadership

The Supervisory Board terminated the contracts of CEO Anna Łukasik, Nursing Director Halina Sękora, and Administrative-Legal Director Anita Ziółkowska-Sadowska. Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski emphasized that the primary task for the new administration is full cooperation with institutions investigating irregularities at the facility.

Aneta Gomółka-Siembora has been appointed as the interim sole board member. Her background includes serving as an administrative director at the Czerniakowski Hospital and the Provincial Hospital in Łomża, alongside experience in public procurement within the sanitary and medical sectors.

Investigation into Triage and Preferential Access

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw is investigating whether the emergency department’s patient intake system violated medical triage protocols. Triage is a critical procedure used to assess patient health status and ensure efficient care delivery.

Reports indicate the existence of an unofficial intake pathway for Civic Coalition politicians and their families. This system was allegedly established by Dawid Kacprzyk, a former Civic Coalition district councilor and resident physician who has since resigned from his political roles and had his employment contract at the hospital terminated.
