Stores across Poland will be open without limitations this Sunday, April 26th. This represents one of the seven permitted shopping Sundays in the current calendar and the last opportunity before a two-month break.
Simultaneously, the retail sector is navigating new regulations regarding days off, which are currently under review by the Constitutional Tribunal.

The law provides for 32 exemptions from the trade ban. Even on non-trading Sundays, purchases can be made at various establishments.

Violating the regulations carries severe consequences, ranging from fines of 1,000 zł to 100,000 zł, and potentially restriction of freedom for persistent offenders.
Revolution in December: Free Christmas Eve and Dispute in the Constitutional Tribunal
New regulations effective February 1, 2025, significantly alter retail operations at the end of the year. The most important change is designating December 24th as a completely non-working day.
Previously, trade was allowed on Christmas Eve until 2:00 PM. The amendment also limits employees to working a maximum of two Sundays in December.
The law regarding a free Christmas Eve has been referred to the Constitutional Tribunal for subsequent review. President Andrzej Duda challenged the provision introducing a third working Sunday in December, intended as compensation for the market for the free Christmas Eve.
