Survey: How Do Poles Envision Szymon Hołownia?

In a survey commissioned by the Fact news outlet and conducted by IBRiS on 24–25 Oct 2025, 57 % of 1,071 respondents said Hołownia would best fit a role unrelated to politics. Eight percent saw him as the Speaker of the Sejm, seven percent envisaged him continuing a political career but not as speaker or vice‑speaker. Five percent thought he could serve as Poland’s ambassador to the United States, and two percent viewed him as a high commissioner at the United Nations. Fifteen percent were uncertain.

Should Szymon Hołownia Leave Polish Politics?

Another study, run by SW Research for the newspaper Rzeczpospolita on 7–8 Oct 2025, asked whether Hołownia should withdraw from national politics. 55.8 % answered positively, 19.7 % rejected the idea, and 24.5 % were undecided. Women were slightly more supportive (58 % versus 53 % for men), and the proportion of respondents favoring a departure rose with age—from 43 % among the youngest to 60 % among the oldest.

What Is Next for Szymon Hołownia?

According to the coalition agreement, Hołownia must cease to serve as Marshal of the Sejm on 13 Nov 2025, with Włodzimierz Czarzasty slated to succeed him. The former leader has already slated plans for his post‑political career, having applied for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees role. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski indicated that the Poland 2050 leader could secure the position, and a report in the Gazeta Wyborcza suggested he might become Poland’s ambassador to the United States if he fails to win the UN vote.
