Drunk driver evades police
Police in Raciąż chased a drunk driver who lost control of his Opel, swerving across the road. The 46-year-old tried to flee on foot after abandoning his car, hiding in bushes before being caught. A breath test revealed over 2 promille alcohol in his system, and he was also under a court-ordered driving ban until 2027.
Chaotic pursuit
On the night of September 25–26, officers patrolling near Kraszewo-Gaczułty spotted the Opel swerving across the road. Despite police signals, the driver accelerated, turning onto a dirt road before fleeing on foot. After a short chase, officers apprehended the man hiding in thick vegetation.
Legal consequences
The 46-year-old Raciąż resident was charged with drunk driving while under a court-imposed ban and failing to stop for police. He faces up to 5 years in prison, an extended driving ban, and fines for victims’ support funds.
