Police Chase in Podkarpackie Region Injures Woman

A police pursuit of a BMW driver in Jabłonica, Poland on May 2nd resulted in a motorcycle officer striking a woman.

Police Chase Initiated

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 2nd, around 1:15 PM in Jabłonica, Skołyszyn municipality. Police initiated a chase after the driver of a BMW vehicle failed to stop for a routine traffic check.

Motorcycle Officer Loses Control

During the pursuit, one officer lost control of their motorcycle on a bend in the road, leaving the roadway and entering a nearby meadow. The motorcycle subsequently struck a woman who was present in the meadow, according to Police Sub-Commissioner Barbara Pawłowska of the Jasło County Police Headquarters.

Injuries and Response

The officer involved sustained no injuries. The injured woman was transported to the Specialist Hospital in Jasło with minor injuries and has since been discharged. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.

Second Officer Provides Aid

The second police officer, also on a motorcycle, immediately provided assistance to the injured woman and terminated the chase, Sub-Commissioner Pawłowska reported.

Emergency Services at the Scene

Emergency services present at the scene included units from the 21st JRG PSP Jasło, KSRG OSP Święcany, OSP Jabłonica, paramedics from the Public Emergency Medical Service in Krosno – Jasło substation, and police officers from the Jasło County Police Headquarters. Authorities are currently locating the driver of the BMW.
