On Monday, October 6, police forced out a Poznań hospital’s ordynator in handcuffs, sparking investigations into false medical documentation, prosecutors say.
Police Intervention
On Monday, 6 October, police carried out an intervention at Poznań Provincial Hospital (Szpital Wojewódzki w Poznaniu). A reader of ePoznan.pl contacted journalists, reporting that neurologists were escorted out in handcuffs.
Ordynator Detained
Young assistant Anna Kłój of Poznań police confirmed that one of the hospital’s ordynators was arrested. Other persons were also detained.
The hospital issued a statement indicating that the activity concerned a contractual employee and pledged cooperation with authorities.
Radio Poznań reported that the ordynator was detained on the ward, while the other detainees were elsewhere.
Prosecutor Reveals Investigation
Prosecutor Łukasz Wawrzyniak of the Poznań District Prosecutor’s Office informed TVP3 Poznań that procedural actions are underway involving six suspects.
The case concerns allegations of falsifying medical documentation and using it in court proceedings. Radio Poznań noted that the situation could have a corruption dimension.
Hospital Statement
The hospital released a statement on the matter, stating that the actions involved a contractual employee and assuring cooperation with the authorities.
