Poland’s Ministry of National Defence unveiled the ‘WGotowości’ program, a mass voluntary defensive training initiative slated to begin in November and reach full readiness by early next year.
Program WGotowości Launches November
Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz announced that the nationwide voluntary defensive training program will begin on 22 November with a pilot phase and aims for full readiness at the start of next year.
Scope and Enrollment Numbers
Poland plans to train about 20,000 individuals in November and December, with a combined total of roughly 100,000 participants across all modules that month and an estimated 400,000 people trained by the end of the next year.
Digital Registration Through mObywatel
Applicants will enroll via the mObywatel mobile app, allowing citizens to select either individual or group courses; around 350 people have already registered during a morning press conference.
Training Paths: Resilience and Reserve
The program offers two tracks: a resilience path for adult citizens and a reserve path for reservists, officer candidates, students, or anyone wishing basic training to become a reservist. Individual courses include basic security, first aid, survival, and cyber hygiene, each lasting one to four days.
Weekend and Basic Training Structure
Workshops will be scheduled near participants’ accommodation and primarily on weekends to accommodate work and family life. Basic reserve training will run during summers for 28 days, with participants receiving about 6,300 PLN for the course.
