Polish Government Agrees to Easier Hiring for Ukrainians

Polish government adopts bill to expand work opportunities for Ukrainian citizens beyond temporary protection status.

New Legislation Expands Work Opportunities

Work based on notification will now be available not only for beneficiaries of temporary protection, according to the latest version of the bill of January 19, 2026.

The bill addresses the expiration of solutions from the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens due to the armed conflict and amends certain other laws.

The legislation was adopted yesterday by the Council of Ministers.

These changes represent only a partial acceptance of employer feedback, according to experts.

“The project still does not include solutions that are important from the company’s point of view,” says Nadia Winiarska, employment expert in the labor market department at Lewiatan Confederation.
