Polish Labor Offices Helping Fewer Unemployed

Polish labor offices supported 163,000 unemployed in active programs last year, down from 182,000 the previous year, as job opportunities continue to decline.

Decline in Active Employment Support

Last year, 163,000 unemployed individuals participated in active forms of unemployment prevention organized by labor offices. This represents a decrease from 182,000 participants in the previous year.

Falling Job Opportunities

The number of available job positions and vocational activation spots has been declining steadily. In January 2025, there were over 53,000 such positions, which decreased to 39,400 by mid-year and further dropped to 26,900 by the end of 2025.

Compared to the previous year’s end-of-December figure of 38,200 positions, the decline is significant.

Expert Analysis

According to experts, these figures indicate that activating unemployed individuals who appear in official statistics is becoming an increasingly challenging task. The number of unemployed has been growing since mid-last year.
