MP Łukasz Litewka died in a tragic accident. The incident occurred on Thursday in Dąbrowa Górnicza, where he was hit by a passenger car while riding a bicycle.

The accident took place after 1:00 PM on Kazimierzowska Street, which connects Dąbrowa Górnicza and Sosnowiec. The 36-year-old politician was struck by a passenger vehicle at that location.

“Today, Poland has lost a man with a big, open heart and a politician dedicated to fighting for the rights of the weakest,” read a statement on the Left party’s X profile. “Łukasz was the embodiment of goodness.”

Marshal of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, wrote: “MP. Friend. Rest in Peace. My thoughts are with Łukasz’s family.” Szymon Hołownia stated, “There are no words. There are no words…”

Europoseł Krzysztof Brejza described Litewka as a “social activist, a great lover of people and animals, and extremely involved in the affairs of his constituents.”

Planned Interview Cut Short

A journalist from Gazeta Prawna recalled discussing a potential interview with Litewka just days before his death. He had initially hesitated, concerned about negative media coverage, but ultimately agreed to discuss his ambitions and plans for Poland.

The meeting was scheduled for after the May holiday, but will now never take place.
