Polish Streamer Raises Over $60 Million for Cancer Foundation

A nine-day charity livestream hosted by Polish influencer Łatwogang, inspired by a song about cancer, raised over 250 million złoty (approximately $60 million USD) for the Cancer Fighters Foundation.

Cancer Fighters Foundation Expresses Gratitude

The Cancer Fighters Foundation thanked Łatwogang for more than just the stream itself, praising their idea, energy, and consistent commitment throughout the event.

The foundation stated that the funds raised represent more than just a number; they offer a chance at treatment, a return to normal life, and a future for their beneficiaries, as well as broader support for cancer fighting efforts across Poland.

Bedoes’ Song Sparked the Initiative

The foundation also extended gratitude to rapper Bedoes, recognizing his song “Ciągle tutaj jestem (diss na raka)” as the catalyst for the fundraising effort. They described it as an impulse that launched something much larger.

The song, created in collaboration with Maja Mecan, a beneficiary of the Cancer Fighters Foundation, moved people and initiated the story of the successful campaign.

Nine-Day Livestream Attracts Celebrities

Łatwogang’s charity livestream, which began on April 17th, lasted nine days and featured appearances from numerous Polish celebrities, artists, and athletes.

Participants included Julia Wieniawa, Doda, Katarzyna Nosowska, Robert Lewandowski, Sanah, and Roksana Węgiel. The total amount raised for the foundation exceeded 250 million złoty.

Donations Rival Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity

The amount raised nearly matched the funds collected by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy) this year, which totaled 263,477,929.83 złoty during its 34th Finale.

Jerzy Owsiak Commends the Effort

Jerzy Owsiak, head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, published a video on Facebook acknowledging Łatwogang’s fundraising success. He reflected on the humble beginnings of his own organization, recalling the initial collection of approximately 3.7 million złoty.

Owsiak praised the energy and enthusiasm surrounding the current campaign and supported Łatwogang’s proposal to establish April 26th as an annual day dedicated to pediatric oncology.
