Polls Reveal Divergent Voter Preferences for Ruling Coalition and Right-Wing Alliances

A recent CBOS survey highlights public opinion on coalition strategies for upcoming elections, while a separate Pollster Institute study provides updated party support rankings among Polish voters.

Voters Divided on Coalition Election Strategy

Thirty percent of respondents believe parties currently in the governing coalition should run separately in next year’s elections, according to a CBOS poll. Fifteen percent favor a single joint list, while 9 percent support running in at most two separate blocks and 2 percent prefer three or four. Thirty-six percent of those surveyed remain indifferent, while 7 percent could not provide an answer.

Governing Prospects and Coalition Viability

When asked which side is better positioned to govern after the next parliamentary election, 26 percent of respondents pointed to the current opposition, compared to 23 percent for the governing coalition. Forty-one percent believe both sides have equal chances, and 11 percent are undecided.

Potential Right-Wing Coalition Compositions

The survey also explored potential configurations for a right-wing opposition coalition. Thirty-eight percent of respondents see no such possibility. Twenty-one percent believe a coalition could be formed by PiS, Konfederacja, and Konfederacja Korony Polskiej, while 14 percent foresee a PiS and Konfederacja partnership. Smaller percentages suggested combinations involving only Konfederacja and KKP or PiS and KKP.

Updated Party Support Figures

A Pollster Institute survey conducted for Super Express between May 28-29 shows Koalicja Obywatelska leading with 32.98 percent support. Prawo i Sprawiedliwość follows at 26.6 percent, with Konfederacja Wolność i Niepodległość at 13.29 percent. Other parties recorded include Lewica (7.76 percent), Konfederacja Korony Polskiej (7.03 percent), Partia Razem (4.78 percent), PSL (4.25 percent), and Polska 2050 (2.71 percent).
