Rail traffic halted in Poznań
The Polish State Railways (PKP PLK) announced that train service between Poznań and Wągrowiec resumed at the Poznań‑Wschód station after 5 p.m. After several hours of suspension, the line was cleared for use.
Earlier, police inspected the tracks at the intersection of Suchej and Bałtycka streets following a report from a train driver who heard odd screeching sounds near the crossing.
Fire Service spokesperson Martin Halasz said the investigation was to determine whether any objects had fallen from the train that could damage the rolling stock. An inquiry was opened by the Wielkopolska Railways regarding a characteristic sound reported on Bałtycka Street and the possible presence of items there.
Suspicious package on tram tracks in Warsaw
A tram driver noticed a suspicious package near the intersection of 11 Listopada and Targowa streets in Warsaw’s Praga district and immediately stopped the vehicle, alerting police and the dispatcher.
Police, firefighters, and traffic supervisors cordoned off the area and directed footpaths with police tape. The incident ended at 2 a.m. The package was identified as an emergency alarm system component used in stores.
