TVP refutes President Nawrocki’s claims, stating they’ve transmitted his speeches and invited him to programs multiple times without response.
TVP’s Response to the President’s Claims
TVP states in its communication that the president’s claims are not supported by facts. As emphasized, since Karol Nawrocki’s inauguration, TVP has been transmitting his speeches and addresses according to its public mission. The broadcaster reminds that in 2025, it sent several invitations to the Presidential Chancellery to participate in information and public affairs programs.
According to TVP, some invitations remained unanswered, while in other cases the Presidential Chancellery refused, citing the tight schedule of the head of state. The public broadcaster also notes that there were situations where TVP journalists were not allowed to attend events with the president, despite the presence of other media.
Invitations Extended to the President
On July 21, 2025, the TVP Info management sent an invitation to the “Question of the Day” program, proposing two dates – August 6 or 7, and specifying that “time and place of meeting are to be determined with the President.” Another invitation – also to the “Question of the Day” program – was sent to the president in connection with Poland regaining independence celebrations.
Another invitation was handed to the Presidential Chancellery on December 16, 2025 – just before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Poland on December 19. The station further informs that the invitation included a provision that “the conversation could be held both before the planned meeting and after its conclusion.”
The Davos Conference Incident
TVP also emphasizes that President Karol Nawrocki’s press conference in Davos, during which critical words were spoken about TVP, was broadcast live on TVP Info. The broadcaster notes that representatives of the Presidential Chancellery are regularly invited to public affairs programs, including the Sunday program “Woronicza 17.”
President’s Words to TVP Reporter
Only at the conclusion of the Davos conference did Karol Nawrocki directly address the TVP Info reporter present in the room, suggesting that his statements might not be shown on Polish Television. “I will express my sadness, because probably you still won’t air this on Polish Television. I’m glad you’re here, you’re smiling at me nicely, but on public television you’ll probably say that I had an untied shoelace or something like that,” the president stated. “I wish you success and greet the viewers of Polish Television, if you’re listening,” he added at the end.
