Sikorski Rebukes Musk, Launches Poll, Invokes Putin Ideologue

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski rebuked Elon Musk’s December 6 EU critique, launched a poll on December 7, and cited a Kremlin ideologue.

Sikorski Rebukes Musk

On December 6, Elon Musk declared that the European Union should be dismantled and sovereignty returned to individual member states so governments could better represent citizens. The next day, Sikorski posted a screenshot showing former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev agreeing with Musk, writing “exactly.”

Poll Gains Widespread Support

Sikorski released a poll that criticized anti‑EU sentiment as serving those who profit from hate and seek to conquer Europe. The poll asked whether to capitulate or make Europe great again—over 87 % of 14,000 respondents chose the latter by December 7 16:30.

Sikorski Suggests Mars Trip for Musk

Sikorski also responded to Musk’s question—“how long until the EU disappears?”—by echoing Alexander Dugin’s claim that the EU is slowly killing Europe, and on December 6 he joked that Musk could go to Mars where “there is no censorship of Nazi salutes,” a reference to Musk’s gesture at Donald Trump’s January 2025 inauguration.

EU Commission Fines X

Following a €120‑million fine imposed by the European Commission on his platform X for failing to meet transparency obligations under the Digital Services Act, Musk resumed posting, citing concerns that X’s verification badges can be bought by anyone and that the platform lacks transparent advertising data and researcher access.
