A November survey commissioned by Onet, conducted online on Nov 25‑26, found that 46.3 % of Poles doubt President Karol Nawrocki’s political independence, while 38.9 % affirm it.
Nawrocki Presidency
President Karol Nawrocki entered the race as an outsider, claiming no party affiliation while receiving support from the Law and Justice (PiS) party. He consistently vowed to represent Poles rather than a political party. After taking office, his close aides have been linked to PiS, notably Zbigniew Bogucki and Paweł Szefernaker. In recent months, speculation has emerged that Nawrocki could collaborate with the Confederation, following a meeting with Sławomir Mentzen and discussions over a potential Senate pact between Confederation and PiS with the president as patron.
Poll on President’s Political Independence
A survey conducted by UCE Research on behalf of Onet, using online interviews with 1,021 adults on November 25‑26, asked whether respondents believed Nawrocki was politically independent. Results showed 46.3 % answered “No,” 38.9 % answered “Yes,” and 14.8 % were undecided.
Earlier Survey on Independence from PiS
United Surveys carried out a similar poll for Wirtualna Polska in September, asking whether Nawrocki would distance himself from PiS as president. The findings differed: 38.8 % said he would, while 60 % disagreed, with 3.6 % unable to answer.
