Three Eastern M2 Metro Stations Closed in Targówek, Replacement Bus Service Activated

Three eastern stations on Warsaw’s M2 metro line were closed after a power outage, prompting the deployment of replacement bus services and disrupting local commuters.

Power outage shuts three terminal stations

Three stations on Warsaw’s M2 line – Bródno, Kondratowicza and Zacisze – have been closed due to a power outage on the northeastern section of the route. Trains no longer stop in this segment, and passengers were notified at stations.

Residents lose direct metro access in Targówek

Neighborhoods around Kondratowicza, Figara and the Zacisza estates now have to transfer to buses running along Main Targówek arteries before reaching active metro stations closer to the centre.

Line II links central and eastern Warsaw

Line II connects the western district of Bemowo with the eastern heart of the city – Praga and Targówek – and currently comprises 18 stations along the Bemowo–Bródno stretch. It is a key public‑transport axis for Wola, Śródmieście and the right‑bank area.

Bródno, Kondratowicza and Zacisze were opened in September 2022, completing the line’s eastern extension.

Technical teams on the scene

Metro’s power‑infrastructure technical staff, together with other city safety authorities, are working to eliminate the fault and restore full line M2 service. WTP has reported that alternative transport is being organised on the disabled section.

Repeated disruptions on the eastern segment

In recent weeks, passengers on eastern Line II have faced serious disruptions, including a traffic‑control failure at Trocka station that shut down four stations, and a temporary suspension of service at Bródno, Kondratowicza and Zacisze with replacement bus lines. The current outage follows a pattern of technical problems on the line’s terminal segment.
