Incident at Ostrowska Street
On Friday, 31 October, around 20:00, a 7‑year‑old boy was involved in a traffic accident while collecting sweets as part of Halloween play on Ostrowska Street in Zdun.
Police Report
According to preliminary findings, the child suddenly ran onto the road behind a parked vehicle. He was struck by a car driven by a 47‑year‑old woman. Both the driver and the child’s guardian were sober.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including two fire brigades and a medical rescue team, arrived on scene. Firefighters found the boy unconscious with no vital signs and began CPR and defibrillation.
Hospital Transfer and Outcome
After several minutes of resuscitation, the child’s life functions were restored and he was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Ostrow Wielkopolski. Despite medical efforts, he died at 23:30.
Family and Investigation
The boy had come to Zdun to visit his grandmother and was under adult supervision at the time of the accident. Police, under the oversight of the prosecutor’s office, are investigating the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
