Truck Crash on DK50 Leaves One Dead, One Critically Injured

A truck accident on National Road 50 near Drwalew, Poland, on March 19th resulted in the death of a 72-year-old driver and critical injuries to an 81-year-old passenger.

Grójec police are investigating the cause and circumstances of the tragic road accident that occurred yesterday on National Road 50.

The incident occurred on March 19th on National Road “50”, between Grójec and Mińsk Mazowiecki, around 2:30 PM in the town of Drwalew. Both the driver and passenger, residents of the Kraków district, were ejected through the windshield.

Victim Information and Medical Response

Preliminary police findings indicate that the 72-year-old driver of a Renault truck suddenly veered into a ditch while traveling on DK-50.

The 72-year-old driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Grójec, where he died despite medical efforts. The 81-year-old passenger was airlifted to a hospital in Warsaw with severe injuries.

Investigation and Traffic Disruption

An investigation is underway, supervised by the Prosecutor’s Office, to determine the circumstances and cause of the accident, and whether the driver was sober.

Traffic in the direction of Grójec was disrupted for over four hours, operating on a single lane. Emergency services were on scene.

Police are urging drivers to exercise caution and prudence on the road.
