Trump Joked About Leaders in Davos: “There Are People I Can’t Stand”

At Davos World Economic Forum, Donald Trump claimed to like all present leaders despite usually disliking “two or three.”

Trump’s Comments on Leaders in Davos

During the Peace Council signing ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 22, Donald Trump addressed the gathered leaders.

“Actually, I like this entire group. Each of them. Believe it? Usually there are two or three people I can’t stand, but I don’t see any of them here,” Trump joked.

Trump Criticizes Spain Over NATO Spending

Trump emphasized that most NATO members have agreed to increase defense spending to 5 percent of GDP.

“The exception is Spain, I don’t know why they don’t want to do it. They want to ride for free. We need to talk to them,” he said.

Trump Praises Polish President Karol Nawrocki

Trump also addressed Karol Nawrocki, saying, “I would also like to thank President Nawrocki from Poland. A great man, he won the elections, I am very proud of him.”

Nawrocki attended the meeting but did not sign the founding document. The Polish president has not yet informed whether he will join the council.

Peace Council Founding Members

Besides Trump, the founding document has been signed by leaders of Argentina, Bahrain, Morocco, Armenia, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia.

Most of the approximately 60 countries invited to the council have not yet decided whether to join.
