Turkey Shoots Down Drone Over Black Sea

On Monday, December 15, Turkish forces fired an F‑16 after detecting an unmanned aerial vehicle approaching the Black Sea border. The drone was identified as an out‑of‑control unmanned aircraft and was destroyed safely away from residential areas.

Russian Drone Hits Turkish Oil Tanker “Viva”

Last week, Turkish authorities warned of escalating tensions after Russian drone strikes on Ukrainian ports damaged three Turkish cargo ships. The Ukrainian Navy said a Russian drone struck the Turkish oil tanker Viva, carrying sunflower oil to Egypt, which had eleven Turkish nationals aboard with no casualties. The ship continued to its destination.
