Tusk to Nawrocki and Glapiński: “No Time for Combinations”

Polish PM Tusk urges immediate signing of SAFE program, dismissing alternative proposals as political games amid funding disputes.

Tusk’s Urgent Call for SAFE Program

Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated, “Mr. President, Mr. Chairman, there is no time for combinations. Poland and Polish companies, Polish security are waiting for money from the SAFE program of tens of billions of zlotys. These factories are already working under this program.”

“There is no question of any political games,” said Tusk, adding that NBP President Adam Glapiński informed in a December letter about NBP losses regarding an alternative military program to SAFE.

Tusk’s Three Postulates

“How is it? Either for our governments there was never money from the NBP because there are huge losses, or after visiting the president, some miraculous possibilities appear. If this is true, we expect information on this matter, because these are serious issues,” said Tusk.

The Prime Minister presented three demands to President Nawrocki and NBP President Glapiński: immediately sign SAFE, provide precise information about NBP’s financial capabilities, and bring Polish gold back to Poland.

Polish SAFE Zero Percent Proposal

President Karol Nawrocki and NBP President Adam Glapiński presented a “Polish SAFE at zero percent” to be financed with NBP help, amounting to 185 billion zlotys.

“Thanks to the work of the president, the entire board of the NBP, Poles earned significantly more than 185 billion zlotys needed to finance Polish security in the next five years,” said the president.

Need for Cooperation

“To this mechanism, we need on one hand the consent of the president, on the other hand the initiative and consent of the NBP president, but also the involvement of the government,” Nawrocki added.

He stated that he would send a letter to Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, inviting them to a meeting about the “Polish SAFE zero percent.”
