US Troop Relocation Halted: Presidential Aide Blames Ministry of Defense and Government Narratives

Marcin Przydacz, head of the presidential International Policy Bureau, claims the Ministry of National Defense failed to manage information regarding the suspension of US troop rotations, fueling a cooling atmosphere in the Pentagon.

Ministry of National Defense Under Fire for Communication Failure

The head of the Presidential International Policy Bureau stated that the Ministry of National Defense had not been sufficiently active in discussions regarding the presence of US troops in Europe. He argued that this inaction led to surprise over recent US decisions.

Przydacz emphasized that order must be restored to the communication process between the ministry and the Pentagon. He noted that if the ministry fails to resolve the current confusion, the president and his office will intervene more directly.

Accusations of Anti-American Narratives

According to the presidential aide, the strained relationship with the Pentagon stems in part from recent political discourse in Poland. He specifically criticized Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty, accusing them of spreading harmful, anti-American narratives that may have influenced US decision-making.

Przydacz maintained that agreements reached between President Nawrocki and Donald Trump remain in force. He called on the government to abandon rhetoric that could jeopardize national security and the presence of American forces in Europe.

Government Response and Official Stance

Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk announced he is traveling to the United States to convey a message from Prime Minister Tusk. He stressed that the official government position is one of readiness to increase the American military presence in Poland, regardless of domestic political divisions.
