Fire Breaks Out in Warsaw Apartment

On Saturday, March 28th, around 10 PM, a fire occurred in an apartment on the top floor of a multi-story building on Lazurowa Street in Warsaw’s Bemowo district.

The fire engulfed one room on the 3rd floor, with thick black smoke spreading throughout the apartment and into the stairwell.

Access Hindered, Fire Contained

Firefighter access was initially hampered by improperly parked vehicles obstructing the building’s driveway. They found the apartment and common areas filled with smoke.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze with one water jet directed at the burning room, causing significant damage to the apartment.

Animals Rescued, One Fatality

The apartment owner evacuated before the arrival of emergency services. Firefighters discovered a dog and a cat without vital signs during the firefighting operation.

Resuscitation efforts, including oxygen therapy, were initiated. The dog regained consciousness and was taken to a veterinarian by its owner, but the cat could not be saved.

Damage Assessment and Response

The fire resulted in the destruction of furniture in the living room. Windows in the apartment cracked, and the entire interior was heavily smoke-damaged.

Emergency services, including four fire crews, an operational group from the city, medical rescue teams, gas, electricity, and police, worked at the scene until midnight.

Cause Under Investigation

The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
