Around 12:20 PM on Saturday, a fire erupted in an apartment located on the 2nd floor of a building at the intersection of Grochowska and Żółkiewskiego streets in Warsaw’s Praga-Południe district.

Initial reports indicate the fire affected furnishings within one of the rooms.

Residents Attempt Rescue Before Firefighters Arrive

Two residents entered the smoke-filled apartment before the arrival of emergency services to check if anyone was inside.

Smoke Inhalation Leads to Hospitalization

The two individuals who entered the apartment suffered smoke inhalation and were transferred to a hospital by paramedics upon the arrival of emergency crews.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Three fire crews, a city operations group, a medical rescue team, gas and energy utilities, and the police responded to the scene. Their actions included extinguishing the fire, securing the area, and investigating the incident.

The cause and exact circumstances of the fire are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.
