What is Khat?
Khat is a plant found mainly in Yemen and East Africa. Due to its content of cathinone – a substance with effects similar to amphetamine and ephedrine – it functions as a stimulant. It is sometimes also used as an antidepressant. In Poland, possession of khat is illegal.
