Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński confirmed that a prominent Warsaw attorney has been arrested for sending false bomb threats while impersonating high-ranking public officials to authorities.
Disciplinary Proceedings Initiated
Katarzyna Gajowniczek-Pruszyńska, Dean of the Warsaw Bar Council, stated that disciplinary authorities have commenced routine procedures following the serious charges brought against the lawyer. A motion to suspend the attorney from practice is currently being processed, and a substitute will be appointed to manage his ongoing cases.
The Dean noted that if the evidence confirms the allegations, the lawyer could face expulsion from the profession, independent of any criminal sentence handed down by a court. The investigation remains in its early stages.
Evidence of Serious Criminal Activity
The Metropolitan Police reported that the 48-year-old suspect is accused of seven counts, including sending false notifications regarding planned attacks on the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has been remanded in custody for three months.
During a raid on the suspect’s apartment, officers seized laptops, electronic storage devices, mobile phones, and service badges. Police also discovered various weapons, ammunition, identity documents belonging to other people, and 10 artillery shells inside the suspect’s vehicle.
