Warsaw police detained four individuals, including two minors, following a robbery where the victim was attacked with a telescopic baton, dumbbell weight, and knife.
Police Operation Leads to Arrests
Intensive police operations in Warsaw’s Wola district resulted in the arrest of four individuals suspected of robbery with dangerous weapons and causing bodily harm. Initial findings indicate the perpetrators attacked the victim with a telescopic baton, a dumbbell weight, and a knife before fleeing the scene.
Extensive searches led police to Warsaw’s Wawer district, where the suspects were apprehended.
Details of the Attack
Police responded to reports of an assault at a rented apartment in Wola. The victim had arranged to meet a woman at the apartment, but upon opening the door, was confronted by the woman and two masked men, with a third assailant waiting outside.
One attacker wielded a knife and dumbbell weight, while another had a telescopic baton. They demanded money from the victim, then assaulted them, causing injuries, before stealing their belongings and escaping.
Investigation and Evidence Gathering
Upon receiving the report, police immediately arrived at the scene, involving officers from the Anti-Life and Health Crime Department. A forensic team conducted an examination of the scene and collected evidence.
Investigators established the circumstances of the incident, analyzed the suspects’ escape route, and conducted operational inquiries.
Suspects Identified and Apprehended
Based on the gathered evidence, police identified the suspects’ location and made arrests in Wawer. Those detained included a 17-year-old wanted by a juvenile detention center, a 23-year-old, and a 16-year-old wanted by a juvenile shelter, who also possessed over 24 grams of klefedron.
The arrested individuals were known to law enforcement. The 23-year-old had been previously convicted of a property crime and released in February, and had been repeatedly wanted and detained 14 times. A fourth suspect, a 20-year-old, was later arrested on the street and found to be in possession of narcotics.
Charges and Detention
The suspects were taken into police custody and presented to the Warsaw-Wola District Prosecutor’s Office, where they were charged with robbery with dangerous weapons and causing bodily harm lasting over seven days, acting jointly and in concert.
The 23-year-old suspect faces charges as a repeat offender. Two others will also be charged with drug possession.
Pre-Trial Detention Ordered
On the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered three suspects to be held in temporary custody for three months. The crime carries a sentence of 3 to 20 years imprisonment.
The minor was placed in a juvenile shelter, with the family court to make further decisions regarding their case.
