Warsaw Weekend Traffic Disruptions: Parades, Rallies, and Street Closures

Warsaw faces significant traffic disruptions this weekend, May 23–24, due to the Old Bielany Festival, a car parade, the Smocza Parade, and a scheduled bicycle rally through the city center.

Old Bielany Festival

Bielany will host its annual festival at Plac Konfederacji this Saturday, May 23. Parking will be prohibited at the square starting Friday, May 22, at 5:30 p.m. until the end of Saturday.

Residents may use the free parking lot at the Bielany District Office throughout the weekend. Additionally, Plac Konfederacji will be closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday, resulting in dead-end streets in the immediate vicinity.

Saturday Morning Car Parade

A car parade traveling from Falenty to Marki is scheduled for Saturday morning. Starting at 10:00 a.m., the route includes Kinetyczna, Wirażowa, Żwirki i Wigury, Trasa Łazienkowska, Wał Miedzeszyński, Wybrzeże Szczecińskie, Sokola, Zamoyskiego, Jagiellońska, Aleja „Solidarności,” and Radzymińska. The event is expected to conclude by 12:00 p.m.

Smocza Parade

Also on Saturday, May 23, the Muranów neighborhood will host the “Smocza Parade.” Between 11:50 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., police may close Smocza Street to traffic between Rotblat Square—at the intersection of Smocza and Nowolipki—and the school entrance near Gliniana Street.

Sunday Bicycle Rally

On Sunday at noon, a bicycle rally will depart from Osiedle Jazdów for a nine-kilometer loop through central Warsaw. The route spans Jazdów, Piękna, Aleje Ujazdowskie, Koszykowa, Aleja Wyzwolenia, Nowowiejska, Waryński, Trasa Łazienkowska, Wawelska, Grójecka, Aleje Jerozolimskie, Nowy Świat, Plac Trzech Krzyży, and Wiejska, returning to Osiedle Jazdów by 1:00 p.m.

Police officers securing these parades and rallies reserve the right to temporarily halt traffic on any affected streets.
