A 45-year-old Ukrainian woman was in critical condition after being struck by a tram in Warsaw after running onto the tracks.
Incident Details
On Sunday, March 1, at 19:22, a pedestrian was hit by a tram on Marszałkowska street over Łazienkowski Route after running onto the tracks.
The 45-year-old Ukrainian woman had just gotten off a tram heading toward Puławska Street and attempted to cross the tracks from behind the tram, outside a designated crossing, when she was struck by tram line 4 heading toward Plac Zbawiciela.
Aftermath
The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The tram driver of line 4 was sober.
Police officers from the Traffic Department documented the incident site, took measurements, and conducted photographic documentation.
Traffic Impact
Tram traffic was suspended in both directions until approximately 21:00 due to the incident.
