Peace Talks Focus on Donbas

Two-day peace talks between Ukraine, Russia, and USA will begin in Abu Dhabi on Friday, January 23. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the Donbas issue is key and will be discussed regarding how the three parties perceive this problem, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

US Representatives

The United States will be represented by special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Witkoff and Kushner flew to the United Arab Emirates following talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Russian Delegation

The Russian delegation will be led by Igor Kostiukov, head of military intelligence GRU. The delegation will also include representatives from Russia’s Ministry of Defense.

Ukrainian Delegation

Ukraine’s delegation will include Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerow, head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Budanow, his deputy Serhij Kyslytsia, Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov, and David Arakhamia, chairman of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party.
