Zbigniew Ziobro said that the National Prosecutor’s Office’s request to lift his parliamentary immunity is revenge for his work as a prosecutor‑general, citing cases involving former transport minister Sławomir Nowak, lawyer‑MP Roman Giertych, and Senator Tomasz Grodzki.
Ziobro in Budapest, Avoiding Return
He said he is staying in Budapest and will not return to Poland for fear of arrest, alleging a planned provocation carried out under false accusations.
Parliament to Vote on Temporary Arrest
At 16:00 the Sejm’s Commission on Rules, MPs’ Affairs and Immunities opened a hearing on the prosecutor’s request to waive Ziobro’s immunity and grant him temporary arrest.
