11-Year-Old Fights for Life After E-Scooter Crash

In Wyszków, Poland, an 11-year-old boy is hospitalized with serious head injuries after losing control of an electric scooter and crashing on April 15th.

Police Respond to Serious E-Scooter Accident

Police in Wyszków responded to a serious accident involving an 11-year-old riding an electric scooter without a helmet. The boy lost control of the scooter, resulting in a fall and severe head injuries.

The incident occurred on Targowa Street in Wyszków just before 8:00 PM on April 15th. The boy was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Recurring Risks with E-Scooter Use

Despite numerous preventative appeals and actions, road accidents involving electric scooter users continue to occur. These riders are considered vulnerable road users and must prioritize their own safety.

Caution and adherence to traffic regulations are crucial for safe e-scooter operation.

E-Scooter Safety Regulations

Riders are prohibited from using phones, carrying passengers, or riding under the influence of alcohol. Children under 13 are prohibited from riding on roads (except in residential zones and with adult supervision).

Helmets are mandatory for riders under 16 years of age, effective June 3, 2026.

Parental Guidance Urged

Parents are urged to monitor their children’s use of electric scooters and to equip them with protective helmets, which are becoming mandatory and can save lives.

The Wyszków County Police Department (KPP) issued the appeal.
