Three Ukrainian men were detained in central Warsaw after police seized vehicles equipped with spy‑device detectors, hacking gear, and SIM cards that could threaten national cyber security.
Detention of Three Ukrainian Men
Police in central Warsaw stopped a Toyota driven by a Ukrainian man and found two other men in the vehicle. All three were 43, 42 and 39 years old.
Suspicious Equipment Seized
Investigators seized a Flipper hacking device, a spare spy‑device detector, antennas, laptops, a large number of SIM cards, routers, portable hard drives, and cameras.
Claims of European Travel
The men said they had been traveling across Europe and had arrived in Poland a few hours earlier, planning a short trip to Lithuania.
Charges of Fraud and Computer Offences
They face accusations of fraud, computer fraud and possession of equipment fitted for criminal acts, including attempts to damage data of special importance to national defence.
Provisional Detention and Legal Proceedings
The Warsaw Central District Court approved the prosecutor’s request for temporary arrest for three months. The case is deemed developmental and is monitored by the prosecutor’s office.
Investigation Ongoing
Police are examining why the men arrived in Poland and the intended purpose of the seized items. The investigation is managed by the Central Warsaw I Police Command.
