Starting in spring 2026, the PFRON “Active Local Government” program will offer rental subsidies for individuals with disabilities entering the workforce, provided they meet specific legal and employment requirements.
Program Purpose and Scope
The PFRON program, specifically Module III Task 2, aims to support individuals with disabilities as they begin independent living and professional careers. The initiative is designed for those who must rent housing tailored to their needs to pursue employment.
Support can cover up to 100 percent of rental costs. It is intended for graduates or those leaving foster care who face challenges in covering initial housing expenses, thereby providing stability during the early stages of their career.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a significant disability certificate, or a moderate disability certificate regarding sight or hearing. Candidates must not own a home in the city where they work, must have full legal capacity, and must be employed or actively seeking work. Furthermore, they must have completed their education within the last 60 months or recently left foster care.
Subsidy Structure and Employment Requirements
Support is provided for up to 36 months, with the highest subsidies allocated at the start. While applicants do not need employment during the first 12 months, provided they are actively searching, proof of employment becomes mandatory from the 13th month onward to continue receiving funds.
Application Procedure and Deadlines
Applications are processed exclusively through the electronic SOW system. Once submitted, documentation is verified before funds are secured and a formal subsidy agreement is signed. The program intake period runs from April 2 to December 4, 2026.
