Up to 144,000 PLN for Home Renovations: PFRON Support Without Income Thresholds

In 2026, disabled individuals can secure funding from the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON) to cover up to 95% of home adaptation costs, with no mandatory income threshold.

Funding for Housing Accessibility

Property owners can receive up to 144,000 PLN in 2026 for home modernizations aimed at improving daily mobility and functionality. The funding program covers up to 95% of qualified costs for projects such as bathroom remodeling or the installation of ramps.

Eligible Improvements vs. Excluded Costs

The program is strictly for accessibility upgrades, not standard interior design or aesthetic renovations. Eligible expenses include walk-in showers, lowered kitchen counters, and the removal of architectural barriers like door thresholds.

The fund will not cover purely aesthetic work, such as replacing floor tiles for style preferences, standard appliance purchases, or basic wall painting and decorative projects.

Funding Limits and Eligibility Requirements

The maximum grant is determined by 15 times the average national salary. With the average wage at 9,652.19 PLN gross, the cap is set at 144,782.85 PLN. Applicants must meet specific criteria, and those renting property may need the landlord’s consent.

Application Procedure and Local Oversight

Applications are managed by local administrative units rather than the PFRON headquarters. Prospective applicants should verify specific documentation requirements with their local office, as regulations may vary by county.

It is critical that applicants do not begin work before the formal approval process is completed, as this is the most common cause for disqualification from the program.
