After Bus Accident, Driver Fled Scene, Injured Passenger Hospitalized

On January 15 in Warsaw, a Ford car collided with a city bus, with the driver fleeing on foot and leaving an injured passenger behind.

On Thursday, January 15, at approximately 14:40 on Wawelska Street in Warsaw, near number 5 by the Skra sports center, a serious collision occurred between a Ford passenger car heading towards Praga and a city bus of line 143, after which the driver fled on foot.

According to initial findings, the driver of the Ford, for unknown reasons at this time, hit the rear of the line 143 bus, which was at the initial stop. There were no passengers on the city bus – only the driver was inside.

Witness Accounts and Emergency Response

Witnesses to the event recounted that the Ford driver did not brake before the collision and hit the rear of the bus at a speed estimated at approximately 60 km/h. Emergency services were called to the scene: fire department, police, and medical rescue team.

Aftermath and Investigation

Firefighters secured the accident area, neutralized operating fluids, and handed over the injured passenger to the medical rescue team. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to the hospital.

The Metropolitan Police Headquarters reported that the driver of the vehicle left the scene of the accident, abandoning the car and the injured passenger. Police conducted further actions at the scene, including efforts to identify the Ford driver and the circumstances under which the collision and escape from the scene occurred.
