A 24-year-old man fleeing police threw a cash-filled safe from his car, which was found to contain 80,000 zloty.
Police Chase in Tarczyn
Police from Piaseczna described an intervention in the Tarczyn municipality near Warsaw. A Ford driver at excessive speed failed to stop for a road check. During the chase, he threw a safe with cash and a mobile phone from his car window before being detained. The driver was identified as a 24-year-old from Małopolskie Voivodeship.
Stolen Items Recovered
During a search of the suspect’s car, police found a hammer and license plates believed to be stolen. They also recovered the items thrown during the escape – a phone and a safe containing 80,000 zloty. Police believe the suspect tried to dispose of these items as they also originated from criminal activity.
Suspected of Attempted Murder
The detained man was wanted by police from Warsaw and Zielonki for an incident at a prestigious hotel where he entered with a knife and attempted to kill a guest. The victim was stabbed twice during the altercation. The man now faces charges of attempted murder and potential life imprisonment. The court has ordered his three-month detention.
