Elderly man suffers critical burns after residential fire in Kozietuły, transported by helicopter.
Fire Breaks Out in Residential Building
On Friday, January 16, a serious fire broke out in a residential building in the village of Kozietuły in Grójiec County. An elderly man was seriously injured and required urgent transport by helicopter to a specialist hospital.
Fire Response and Rescue
The fire was reported around 12:30, and firefighters upon arrival found the fire in a residential room in the building’s basement. The elderly man had managed to escape the endangered room on his own.
When handed over to medical rescue teams, his condition was very serious, with extensive thermal injuries – second and third degree burns covering over 50% of his body.
Investigation Underway
A total of 7 fire brigades participated in the firefighting operations. After the operation ended, the scene was secured, with police conducting further proceedings to establish the details and circumstances of the fire’s origin.
The cause of the incident is currently unknown.
