In 2025, Polish MPs’ flights cost taxpayers over 8 million zlotys, with a PiS politician taking the most trips.
Over 8 Million Zlotys for MP Flights
In 2025, flights for members of parliament cost the Sejm Chancellery exactly 8 million 78 thousand 871 zlotys – determined by TVN24 reporter Radomir Wit. This is the total amount for 9,112 domestic flights, which were used by 274 politicians.
The most active in this regard was Law and Justice (PiS) MP Łukasz Kmita – his 144 flights cost almost 128 thousand zlotys. Second place went to Robert Dowhan (KO) – 143 flights for 126,795.24 zł. In the top five are also: Łukasz Mejza (PiS), Bartosz Romowicz (Polska 2050), and Grzegorz Napieralski (KO).
Parliamentarians Who Didn’t Need Flights
The journalist also listed names of people who did not travel by plane at all at the expense of the Sejm Chancellery last year. There were 186 parliamentarians.
Among them are: Mariusz Błaszczak (PiS), Włodzimierz Czarzasty (Lewica), Szymon Hołownia (Polska 2050), Jarosław Kaczyński (PiS), Sławomir Mentzen (Konfederacja), Donald Tusk (KO), Adrian Zandberg (Razem) and Anna Maria Żukowska (Lewica).
Meetings of Parliamentarians with the President
On Thursday, January 29, some representatives of the Sejm met with Karol Nawrocki at the Presidential Palace. The President talked with representatives of Poland 2050, Polish People’s Party, Razem, Konfederacja and Law and Justice.
Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty said that contacts with President Nawrocki on governance matters are the responsibility of the coalition government. He added that it’s not clear what the President wants to discuss with Lewica, as this wasn’t specified in the invitation.
