Trump: Iran Seeks Agreement, Calls Situation “Difficult”

President Trump states Iran wants to make an agreement as diplomatic tensions continue in the Middle East.

Trump’s Comments on Iran

President Donald Trump stated on Friday, January 30, that Iran wants to make an agreement, though he did not specify if they have a deadline. When asked about withdrawing warships from the Middle East, Trump described the situation as difficult, saying “We’ll see how this all develops.”

Earlier, Trump had warned Iranian authorities to end their nuclear program and stop killing protesters.

Iranian Foreign Minister’s Position

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi met with Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Friday, stating Iran is “ready to participate in any diplomatic process that will be sensible, logical and just,” but will not accept “dictatorship or imposed solutions.”

Aragchi ruled out talks on Iran’s defensive capabilities, including its missile program, emphasizing that no country would compromise on its national security and defense.

Russia’s Diplomatic Involvement

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that there is still a chance for Washington-Tehran talks, while warning that military action against Iran could cause regional chaos.
