On Monday, TV BRICS, launched by the countries of this group, published an interview with the head of Russian diplomacy Sergey Lavrov. The minister did not allow questions to interfere with his responses.

US Sanctions Criticism

When asked about Indonesia’s role in BRICS, Lavrov criticized Americans for not lifting sanctions on the Kremlin despite promises allegedly made during a summit with Vladimir Putin in Anchorage.

Political Statements Aligning with MAGA

He suggested two things in line with the MAGA movement. First, he described the war as “unleashed by Joe Biden”. Second, he contrasted the more compromising stance of the US with “cave Russophobia of most regimes in the European Union”.

Path Forward for Ukraine

Lavrov indicated that “resolving the Ukrainian issue” would allow for “transition to full-scale, broad, mutually beneficial cooperation”.
