Otwock police arrested a 39-year-old man driving a Porsche with nearly 2 per mille of alcohol while transporting two young children during a high-speed pursuit.
The Pursuit and Arrest
Police in Otwock attempted to stop a Porsche driver due to suspicions regarding his sobriety. The 39-year-old ignored light and sound signals and accelerated, leading a chase through Lubelska and Kościelna streets before finally stopping.
Following the arrest, the children were safely handed over to their mother, while the driver was taken into police custody. The Porsche was towed to a police parking lot.
Endangering Children
The driver was found to be transporting a 3-year-old and a 12-year-old inside the sports car. Breathalyzer tests revealed the man had nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system, placing the children in grave danger during his flight from the police.
Legal Consequences and Asset Forfeiture
The man admitted to charges of endangering children, driving under the influence, and failing to stop for a police checkpoint. He is currently under police supervision, which requires regular breathalyzer testing.
Under current regulations, the court will order the forfeiture of the vehicle due to the high level of intoxication. The man will permanently lose his luxury Porsche to the State Treasury.
Police Appeal for Road Safety
Authorities are urging the public to exercise common sense: if you drink, do not drive. They also advise reacting when seeing an intoxicated person behind the wheel, as such actions can save lives.
